Caffeine helps hair growth in two ways; it encourages the production of a growth promoting chemical called IGF-1 in the hair follicle and it lowers the production of another molecule called TGF-B which can shorten the hair growth cycle. Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17, a compound which works to increase the amount of keratin in the hair shaft, prolongs the growth cycle and reduces any localised inflammation of the area.
